Background
Peggy is an accomplished Design Consultant and Decorator with more than 30 years of award-winning experience spanning up-scale private residences, multi-family condominiums, business offices, showrooms, and commercial establishments. She has designed for locally prominent home and business owners, including former owners of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Wayne and Delores Weaver, and has also received multiple awards, including the 2006 Laurel Award for Interior Design. Peggy’s professional skills and accomplishments, combined with her high-energy, multi-tasking nature have led to a successful career that is continuing to flourish at Furniture Mart.
Design Philosophy
When asked about her design philosophy, Peggy says, "Close collaboration between designer and client is critical - just like a lyricist and a composer. We need each other to be successful, but in the end, the home must reflect the owner's style and personality."
Interesting Facts
Outside of her professional work, Peggy is a proud Lady Angler always anxious for tight lines! In addition, she can be found rollerblading around beach communities, and don't be surprised to hear her belt out Tina Turner's "Proud Mary" with any of the local area bands.
Personal Style
Peggy’s personal design style is a mix of old and new. She enjoys blending new, trendy pieces with timeless classics.
Role at Furniture Mart
Peggy's role at Furniture mart begins with listening to the client and discovering his/her lifestyle. From there, it's about fitting the lifestyle with the proper furniture. Often times, she says, a client's first response is, "Oh, I'm just looking." Peggy's goal is to determine exactly what they are looking for and to make them feel comfortable. "We want them to know that we're here to help them, not to force them to buy something," she says.
What Peggy loves most about her job is getting those calls back from clients, telling her how much they love the furniture that was delivered. In addition, she enjoys the variety within each day and each client. “Every person’s different,” she says. “That’s the fun part, you just never know.”
