Background:
Blair has always been aware and affected by her surroundings. This awareness is what drove her to pursue her dreams and improve as many interior environments as possible.
The mountains of Western North Carolina is where Blair attended college. She earned a four year bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the accredited Western Carolina University. During her senior year she earned the ‘Most Creative Award’ of her class.
While attending college Blair worked for two different builders in the Highlands and Cashiers area. There she worked directly with the contractors and clients to come up with the design plan. Auto Cad was her tool for drawing the plans for new construction and remodels. She worked directly with clients to choose materials and finishes. Being a project manager was also one of her roles. This duty was to ensure the projects were running smoothly and according to plan.
In 2007 Blair moved to Jacksonville, where she started working at Hugo’s Fine Furniture. This is where Blair learned extensive knowledge about fabricating custom upholstery, case goods and draperies.
Now she has landed at furniture mart where she has access to the best quality furniture for the best prices in town!
Design Philosophy:
Blair specializes in working with what people have. Most often than not clients have certain pieces that have sentimental value. She prides herself in finding a way to incorporate certain pieces, so that her clients can redecorate and keep their sentimental items.

Personal Style:
Blair’s personal style is transitional. She loves mixing traditional furnishings with modern fabrics and contemporary pieces. Blair has a soft spot for traditional style and she has a strong appreciation for the history of furniture. “I love and appreciate the progression of furniture design throughout history.”
Role at Furniture Mart:
“My goal is to help customers accomplish their goals and in their specific taste. Decorating is not about forcing the designer’s taste onto the client; it is about making the client’s style work so they can be completely happy in their home.”
Interesting Fact:
Blair has been an avid Interior Design blogger for 10 years. She enjoys inspiring people and explaining how to accomplish common design challenges. Her hobbies include painting furniture and repurposing furnishings to give them new life.
