Donna developed her love for interiors at a very early age. Moving every two to three years as a child in a Navy family, her Dad would help her paint her room any color she desired to help with the adjustments involved with moving to a new place. Since she loves color, it was great fun for her to focus on making her environment cheerful, happy and beautiful.
She began her design career in Memphis, TN at a furniture store, and became their display coordinator and a buyer of furniture and accessories. She attended Dallas, Highpoint, and Atlanta markets. When her husband transferred to Jacksonville in 1987, she was busy being a mom with two boys but always managed to work part-time in the design business. She built her business on referrals and she opened Donna Wilson Interiors, Inc. in 1995. As an independent designer, she loved visiting Furniture Mart over the years and decided to check into becoming part of the design team in 2019.
She attended the University of Memphis and Florida State College in Jacksonville. She participated in six Jacksonville Symphony Show-Houses and was an allied member of ASID for 10 years. Her work has been featured in Jacksonville Magazine, Waters Edge, Florida Design, and the Florida Times-Union several times. She has been with some of her clients for many years and worked on their multiple homes. Though most of her concentration is on residential design, she has been contacted by clients to help with their commercial office spaces. One of her specialties is art, whether it be for the wall or sculptural, her love for art and her travel as a child has given her an appreciation of art from many cultures.
Design Philosophy: 'Every client is unique and special and my desire is to bring out their personal style, create a functional, comfortable, and practical home in a way that appeals to them and those who enter.'
