Background:
Lauren has always loved the world of interior design. Her mother says she was always rearranging the house! Lauren moved to Jacksonville from New York in 2000 and worked at The Custom Kid designing high-end children’s bedrooms & playrooms. Lauren then moved on to Norwalk The Furniture Idea, where she worked for many years and was ranked in the top 25 design consultants for the nationwide corporation.
Since 2007 she has worked independently as an interior design consultant, providing a full range of services from flooring to window treatments and everything in between. After visiting our beautiful showroom on Atlantic Blvd, Lauren decided she was ready to jump back in to the wonderful world of design here at Furniture Mart.
She has recently moved to Fernandina Beach, FL.
Design Philosophy:
“It is about creating a comfortable, beautiful environment for the client, no matter what the style.”
The most important thing to remember when working on a project is that it is about satisfying the client not about what style she prefers.
“It is such a wonderful way to make people feel good,” she says.
Role at Furniture Mart:
My role at Furniture Mart is to help guide the client through the showroom and find what meets his/her needs, whether they are looking for a single item or furnishings for an entire home.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role as a designer is getting to meet new people every day and assisting them in purchasing what is right for the space they are working on.
Personal Style:
My personal design favorite is Asian Contemporary – clean lines, no fuss, comfortable and inviting. However, I enjoy creating beautiful rooms from ultra contemporary to super traditional, as well as commercial interiors.
Interesting Fact:
Lauren grew up in New York working in her dad's jewelry business for many years. Her family also owned a chain of dry cleaning stores, one of which she opened and operated on her own at the age of 22. She truly is a "Jane of all trades!"
